Right of withdrawal

Last updated: 19 September 2026

You have 14 days to change your mind about your subscription to Apply in Denmark. This page says how to do it, what happens if you asked us to start sending straight away, and when you get your money back. The statutory form is at the bottom, and you can download it as a plain text file.

Your right to withdraw

As a consumer buying at a distance you have a 14 day right of withdrawal under the Danish Consumer Contracts Act (lov om forbrugeraftaler). It is free, and you do not have to give a reason.

What we sell is a service, so the 14 days run from the day the agreement is made, which is the day you subscribe. That period covers your first two weekly periods.

Withdrawing is not the same as cancelling. Cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves the week you paid for running, and it is described in the terms of service. Withdrawing undoes the agreement itself, and it can mean money back.

How to withdraw

Any clear statement that you want to withdraw is enough. There are three ways to make one:

  • Open Withdraw from agreement in your account. The button is there for the whole 14 day period, and one click is all it takes.
  • Write to support@applyindenmark.dk. One sentence is enough: that you withdraw, and when you subscribed.
  • Fill in the standard withdrawal form at the bottom of this page and send it to us.

You have met the deadline as long as you send your message before the 14 days are up. It does not matter when it reaches us.

We confirm your withdrawal by email without undue delay, so you have it in writing: that we received it, what it said, and when you sent it.

You also receive this guidance and the form with your receipt, so you keep a copy that does not depend on us. If we ever fail to give it to you, your 14 days are extended by law.

If you asked us to start right away

Sending cannot wait 14 days and still be worth anything to you, so at checkout we ask you to tick two separate boxes:

  • You expressly ask us to start the service before the 14 day period is over.
  • You acknowledge that your right of withdrawal ends once the service has been fully performed.

Neither box is ticked in advance, and ticking them is your choice. What we sell is delivered week by week from the moment you approve your application, so we can only start a subscription for someone who has expressly asked us to begin before the withdrawal period is over and has acknowledged what that means. If you would rather not, you cannot subscribe, and you are not charged anything.

If you withdraw after we have started, but before the service has been fully performed, you pay a proportionate amount for what we have already delivered, measured against the whole agreement. In practice that means the applications already sent in the week you are in. The rest comes back to you.

Once the service has been fully performed, the right of withdrawal is gone, and only if you gave both of the acknowledgements above beforehand.

In practice we are more generous than the rule. If you ask for your money back on your first complaint, you get the whole week back, whether or not the calculation above would have given you all of it. See refunds in the terms of service.

Your money back

We refund you without undue delay, and at the latest 14 days after we receive your withdrawal.

The money goes back on the same means of payment you used, unless you expressly agree to something else. There is no fee for it.

The amount is what you paid, less the proportionate amount for what was already delivered in the cases described above.

The standard withdrawal form

This is the statutory form, annex 3 of the Danish Consumer Contracts Act. Using it is optional: an email in your own words is just as valid.

Download it as a plain text file: standard-withdrawal-form.txt.
